There is too much messianic passion and not enough enlightening psychology in Peterson’s follow-up to the bestselling 12 Rules for Life

and appearing on combative TV interviews, inspiring his supporters and provoking his enemies. But then stories emerged of his withdrawal from the frontline of the culture wars. In the “Overture” of, he details an extraordinary story of physical and psychological collapse, as an autoimmune response to something he ate led to a drastic change in diet and a dependence on the sedative benzodiazepine.

Jordan Peterson has helped millions of people to find meaning in their lives. Men, women, gay, straight, left-wing, right-wing, black, white. How small minded, to push people away from something that could change their lives for the better.

I’m sure this is a completely unbiased review with no political agenda.

Can’t say I’ve read it, but, come on, it’s The Guardian. As if a Jordan Peterson book was ever going to get a positive review. The reviewer may as well have saved time and wrote this without reading the book.

The replies from leftists on this thread.....kinder, gentler politics 😂

Just came here to see people bash him, for no other reason than never having read his books or watched any of his lectures...

Maybe if you drop the political straw man argument and stop obsessing over this narrative of an endless power struggle between men and women, you might understand that those interested in JPs ideas are simply concerned with trying to make their lives more valuable and meaningful.

Lay of the percs jordo

Watching and reading JP has helped me enormously. Especially in my career. It does not surprise me that this failing rag criticises JP. To most people, their eyes are wide open to this biased nonsense.

oh i really hope this review is not ideologically tilted

If it’s just self-help dictums why go after him so vociferously. The loony left can’t bear any view but their own. Self-discipline predicates better outcomes, what is wrong with encouraging those lost in our post-modern fog to get a little clarity?

He has lost it ! Should have taken his own advice!

Expected review from The Guardian. Anyone not far left gets negative reviews. It’s in their MO.

Arguably the best psychologist on the planet. Straight to the point, no holding back and speaks to most relatable sense someone could. He should be idolised not critiicized.

If your life is so terrible you’d consider taking advice from this clod then my heart goes out to you

“Vilification? Good. Out of the door, line on the left, ...”

Just yet another humourless purveyor of banality to the needy & the gullible.

“Peterson seemed to relish the conflict, going on tour, producing a podcast, a YouTube channel and appearing on combative TV interviews”. “Appearing” on “combative TV interviews” Hahaha this is gold

dude look like his soul left his body. 💀
