The official trailer for Tim Burton's long-awaited sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice , was finally released on Thursday, with stars Michael Keaton , 72, Winona Ryder, 52, and Catherine O'Hara, 70, all returning to their iconic roles.
It is Astrid who ends up bringing Beetlejuice back by saying his name three times despite the stern warnings of her mother.'When I was a demon, a trickster demon terrorized our entire family and tried to force me to marry him,' Lydia warns Astrid. 'I believed he was gone forever until you found this in the attic,' she said, referencing the poster.'Don't ever say that name!' Lydia angrily tells her daughter.
Viewers are then shown snippets of their wild ride into the underworld, where they meet a slew of new faces played by Justin Theroux and Willem Dafoe.
A synopsis for the sequel reads: 'After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia's life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened.'
