A Canadian brewery and a leather store in New Zealand have found themselves in a hairy situation after using te reo Māori to unwittingly name their respective brands after pubic hair.
You would think that they had tested their names first. However tehamua comments on language 'appropriation' are daft and somewhat ironic given that he's Maori but appears to have 'appropriated' the entire English language.
Forty years ago nobody would notice nor care. Today’s distain for pubic hair is ridiculous...even men are now being encouraged to remove theirs 🙄

It’s no more offensive than calling a cafe chain Prêt à Manger. But it is crap marketing.
