Rutland Water, a reservoir just an hour's drive from Nottingham, has been honoured with the prestigious Blue Flag and Seaside Award. Located in Oakham and part of the Anglian Water Parks, it is now the first and only inland location in England to receive this recognition.
The award has also been bestowed upon Royal Albert Dock and Salthouse Dock in Liverpool. In order to qualify, each site must meet and maintain a series of criteria related to the environment, education and accessibility. "Award approvals from environmental non-profit group Keep Britain Tidy paint a picture of our commitment to maintain high-quality green spaces beneficial to community health and cohesion, as well as bolstering biodiversity within local environments. Our devoted team and volunteers work tirelessly year-round to ensure the park thrives it would have been an impossible task without their dedication.
