Steve Wright , who presented programmes for BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2 for more than 40 years, has died at the age of 69, the BBC has announced. Richard Hammond, Ken Bruce and Matt Lucas are among the famous names who have paid tribute to the "brilliant" broadcaster. Impressionist and comedian Jon Culshaw said he has been "absolutely knocked sideways" by the news of Steve Wright 's death.
Alistair Campbell, Tony Blair's director of communications, said Wright was a "terrific broadcaster" and one of BBC Radio 2's "brightest lights". Greg James, the BBC Radio 1 DJ, has hailed Wright as the "King of Jingles" in his tribute. Long live THE BIG SHOW
