We now know that tens of thousands of people in the UK are living with Long Covid – meaning that they have not yet recovered from the effects of the virus, even if their infection was relatively mild, and happened months ago. Symptoms vary but can include breathlessness and fatigue. You might have heard presenter Adam Rutherford yesterday on Radio 4 talking about his own experience of it, and looking at the growing body of science around the condition.

It is estimated that nearly one million women in the UK missed their routine mammogram breast screening programme appointments due to Covid-19. This is according to figures from the charity Breast Cancer Now. Their Chief Executive Baroness Delyth Morgan outlines their concerns and what needs to be done to deal with a backlog of cases.

isabelwriting I don't understand why this is so fraught. I'm not religious. I told my daughter very young that some people believe there is place ppl go to when then die, but I don't, & that when bodies die they break down into the ground & help beautiful flowers & trees grow. Why the angst?

Coronavirus: One million breast screenings missed because of pandemicIt is estimated that around 8,600 women are living with undetected breast cancer in the UK after screening services were paused. That hardly surprising because when the cornovirus lockdown happened on March 23 Cancer patients were given a death sentence by hospitals stopping chemotherapy treatment's so one million breast screening were missed and women who were due a breast screening didn't have one.😰 YOU LOT ARE RESPONSIBLE The ones making the decisions are all on private health care so nothing has changed for them! Those of us that the NHS was invented for will be the only ones that suffer once again!
