Is it better to by a hybrid car or a petrol version at the moment...Pure electrics are still super expensive and have a limited range....and not enough charging points out of London....considering all options to replace what was a low emission Fiat 500...
AliceClimate Well done for today’s program! Unfortunately with experts not wanting to be controversial, have strong views or argue on the most pressing issue of today made this very weak. Nothing else matters if you don’t have a healthy planet in which to live!
AliceClimate Inspiring programme. I like the idea of action by influence. Individuals can make a difference. Spread the word to friends etc. Ask supermarkets re plastic wrap etc. Ration air travel but better to use rail. Eat less meat. Doable.
Radishes and salad leaves are the easiest to grow. Very quick results too. Get the children a little watering can. They love it.
A show that would have been more relevant in the 1990s. In fact I'm sure I heard exactly the same broadcast in 1990. Absolutely no sense of the real climate emergency we are facing. Par for the course for the utterly useless BBC1!
Can't believe the answer to the question, 'what's the easiest thing to grow in the garden' wasn't salad leaves! 🌱🥬 The next question was on food waste - and we all know how rubbish bags of salad are! Rocket and salad leaves can be grown all year round, much cheaper and fresher!
AliceClimate Great to see woman's hour highlighting environmental issues at the moment - the complex & urgent climate & biodiversity issues deserve more attention from all broadcasters!
Great show this morning. Lots of practical ideas that we can all draw from.
Astonished to see Emma Howard Boyd as a eco judge. The EnvironmentAgency fail to live up to their remit to protect the environment, rivenhallincinerator changing THEIR rules to permit one of the biggest incinerators in Europe with the shortest chimneys. Hypocrisy

lucysiegle AliceClimate Flothegardener Really enjoying the program, fascinating but woke people do have a big problem talking about overpopulation.
We know that as people become wealthier, infant mortality rates drop and children become an economic liability rather than asset. fertility rates drop naturally.
Should I “stick and flick” dog poop into a hedge? Or should I “bag and in” 🧐
Can't believe when talking about population + of children no one mentioned the birth rate is falling.
Oh please, why haven't you read 'Factfulness' by Hans Rosling? And why haven't you watched his program, 'Things aren't as bad as you think'?
Because I have been shielding I have been using online shopping, I have found that many items have palm oil etc that I wouldn’t have bought if I had been in the store.
Obviously if you've got a perfectly useable plastic mug, use it.
Please mention the plastic “netting” that almost all organic veg is wrapped in!!!! Have you ever cut this plastic netting on your worktop? Micro plastics found everywhere! Ban plastic netting 👍
“Biodegradable” packaging often doesn’t decompose properly in landfill, and can still take decades to break down... I think more should be done to facilitate bringing your own containers for grains etc. and buying loose produce where possible.
Anyone going to being up farm animal welfare? If people thought more about how the meat we eat is farmed they might be motivated to eat less of it?
