Why do women want to perform as drag queens? Artist SinforVictory, drag king AdamAll_Drag and historian and performer RoseCollis1 explain all. 📷 © Victoria Sin, If I had the words to tell you we wouldn’t be here now, Photo: Ivy Tzai

Elizabeth Strout won The Pulitzer Prize in 2009 for her novel, Olive Kitteridge. Ten years later, with three prize-winning novels in between, Elizabeth Strout has written a sequel, OIive, Again. The main character Olive is now quite elderly and still living in the American state of Maine. She's still cantankerous, judgemental and rude but also kind, honest, and as hard on herself as she is on others. And perhaps a little wiser.

Jade Wye and Melissa Rice are the first ever winners of the Rachel Bland Podcast Award. Rachel was one of the presenters of You, Me and the Big C, a 5 Live Podcast about cancer and after she died the podcast competition was set up in her memory. Jade and Melissa's podcast is called Hooked: The Unexpected Addicts. It talks honestly about addiction and recovery and wants to debunk myths and stereotypes. They share their story with Jane.

The TV show, RuPaul's Drag Race, is half way through, so what do we think about drag queens these days? Do women see them as misogynistic or pure fun ? Historian and performer Rose Collis, drag king Adam All and artist Victoria Sin discuss.

SinforVictory AdamAll_Drag RoseCollis1 Really unbalanced discussion, all three guests were so negative about drag. Why not invite someone like michellevisage as counter point of view?

SinforVictory AdamAll_Drag RoseCollis1 Just putting it out there that I blimmen love dragraceukbbc and RuPaul himself and there is nothing about DragRaceUK dragracethat I find offensive or insulting to women! Signed, a staunch feminist.

SinforVictory AdamAll_Drag RoseCollis1 Really interesting conversation. 👍

AdamAll_Drag RoseCollis1 Neither of us are women! Both of us are non binary.

Great series about a really important topic. Feeling much the same as Alison but with less regret. I too had an abortion when recently married. There was just no choice for us at the time as we were moving countries to take up new jobs. It was not a selfish act.

SinforVictory AdamAll_Drag RoseCollis1 Why such a short section when everything else got a bigger chunk of the show today?

SinforVictory AdamAll_Drag RoseCollis1 PuttingOn & TakingOff Gender the speaker discovered they are NonBinary. Years ago HonorBlackman said: JustBe the contexts was not Gender. JustBe is what the programme could be considering. Drag might be a part of the Process of getting to Justbe.Roads lead the same way

SinforVictory AdamAll_Drag RoseCollis1 I would suggest the woman wanging on about drag does a bit of research into the history of drag, particularly the drag houses. And fishy is a gay , not just a drag term!!

LizStrout I’m reading Olive Again very slowly, savouring every word because I don’t want it to end. She writes about the human condition with touching and painful accuracy and is a genius as far as I’m concerned- and God I wish I could write like that. Hats off!

Listening and feeling so much the same. Thank you 'Alison' for saying these things out loud.x

bbc5live jadewye MelissaRice_1 Very good listen BBCWomansHour Never knew cold turkey could kill.

LizStrout I am so enjoying this interview. Desperate to get to know Olive better. I’m almost 60 and so am constantly looking for other authors of my age. I published when I was 57 and have never looked back. Every positive piece of feedback Spurs me on. Thanks.

BBC Radio 4 - Woman's Hour - Abortion Stories: Five women share their experiences'I couldn't talk to anyone about it.' Five women share the story of their abortion, some of them for the first time. Thank you for sharing these stories. We need to speak, share and support women smashabortionstigma. I've shared our story here, a journey I hope that no NI woman has to face again I'd be happy to hear she regrets the pointless cruel deaths of foxes hunted by hunts as a pastime which she supports. I am absolutely fed up of men trying to make womens' vulva and uterus political objects. Consensual Sex and its occasional results are PERSONAL as is a woman's RIGHT to abortion. Back street abortions are dangerous to women and will continue if legal abortions are abandoned!
