BBC's Nick Robinson apologises for wrongly claiming that Downing Street cleaner died of Covid

Nick Robinson quizzed Steve Barclay over the death of cleaner Emanuel Gomes. Mr Gomes, who worked in Ministry of Justice, died in April 2020 after falling ill. Colleagues suspected he had Covid but report concluded heart hypertension.

BBC R4 presenter referred to Mr Gomes as having worked in 'Downing Street'. He said he had been instructed to be 'surrounded by people who breaking rules'. Today the BBC presenter apologised, describing choice of words as a 'mistake'
