Bloc sources say Britain is trying to water down EU geographical protections

The UK government has renewed its attempt to reopen the chapter of the Brexit divorce treaty protecting specialty food and drink, such as Parma ham, roquefort cheese and champagne, in a move that left the EU chief negotiator, Michel Barnier, “a little bit flabbergasted”.

It’s “speciality”

“British negotiators argue they signed up to the food provisions in the withdrawal treaty in the expectation they would be superseded by a future deal.” In other words, the govt did not intend to adhere to the WA which it signed. Why would the EU trust the UK?

Sadly just one of many smoke and mirror distractions on the doomed road to no deal that Prime minister Cummings has clearly desired from the out set. The whole government seem to be working on the “let’s pretend to give a damn” and then blame someone else When it goes wrong

They really do not have a clue. If they don't want to negotiate then that is their problem. The more we here from the EU the more desperate they become. Times running out.

I'm pretty sure he isn't the only one.

We’ll just use German waldorfs for our salads from now on.

De Pfeffel is deluded.

got to love any non native english speaker who uses 'flabergasted' in such an on point manner 🤣

clintweaver10 No, blow me! You are hot!😀

He is not really flabbergasted. He knows the score. Our country shames us. It humiliates us with its incompetency concerning, well, everything.

clintweaver10 No blow me! You are hot!😀

How very predictable. The return should be that Cadbury's cannot call their brown and sweet fat-product 'chocolate' in the EU.
