Filmmaker Greta Gerwig was among all the high-profile people who attended the Chopard Trophée Awards ceremony on Friday night.

On the heels of making history by becoming the first woman to direct a film that grossed more than $1 billion with Barbie, Gerwig is proving to be a one of a kind again by being the first American female director to serve as jury president of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. The Jury du Festival de Cannes bestows the awards for films in the Compétition section of the festival.

Like she has since the start of the festival on Tuesday, the Barbie director stepped out looking elegant in a black velvet mermaid-style gownHer blonde tresses were slicked back While the annual festival opened on Tuesday, Gerwig has been putting her best fashion foot forward each day with ensembles befitting a leading lady superstar.
