A Banksy artwork has been removed from the side of a building and sold to a gallery for a ‘six figure sum’.
But the slab of brick onto which the iconic work was spray painted was cut out from the wall in Rothesay Avenue at 5am this morning. ‘Unfortunately, despite substantial discussions with a number of local organisations, charities and national bodies over the past four months, none were able to commit to taking ownership of the art for various reasons.
