Little Alexander K – known as Sasha – was abandoned by his young mother after he was born in April with no eyes.
Doctors in the Siberian city of Tomsk confirmed Sasha, who suffers from an extreme form of rare SOX2 anophthalmia syndrome, was otherwise healthy and authorities are now looking to get him adopted. A nurse who is now caring for him said: ‘He is no different to other children, he plays and smiles just like any healthy baby.Sasha is looking for a new home In his adoption listing, Sasha is described as ‘a peaceful, smiling baby’.‘His mother signed his refusal papers in the maternity hospital.
