BA in talks to avert summer pilot strike after legal defeat

BA has offered an 11.5% increase over the term - in line with rises offered to other workers.

"Instead, we have called on BA to hold further talks at ACAS and they have agreed to meet at ACAS today and for the rest of this week for one last try to resolve this dispute by negotiation.The airline's barrister told the High Court last week that the proposed action is designed to cause"the maximum in disruption" and could cost the airline up to £40m a day.The statement said:"We are very sorry for the disruption Balpa's strike action will cause our customers.

3.5% rise a year which is way above inflation and already on shed loads, done at a time which will ruin hard earned families their annual holiday. Typical unions, all out for themselves. Scum

Easy to sort. Sack the lot of them. They will soon realize the £100k+ a year they USED to get was actually quite good. Get new pilots in who actually want to fly and work. For the people saying 'But it costs them £100k to train' ... so what? IT WAS THEIR CHOICE TO BE PILOTS!!!

Surely it's not about wages ,they are very well paid

Average B.A pilot salary is £150,000 per year PLUS hourly rate when flying. These pilots are greedy beyond compare and trashing people’s holidays. If they don’t like their lucrative salaries, find another job. It’s sickening.

Best thing to do is for people to boycott B.A and then pilots will come to realise how good they’ve got it. Boycott B.A and kick the pilots in the gonads (or otherwise) for screwing with people’s holidays and hard earned, expensive, rest.

For those who say it's appalling. BA made record profits, paid record dividends & management got record bonuses, while cabin crew got a below inflation pay offer. Plus pilots have to pay for their own training, which costs them £100,000+.

Well I’ve booked with BA in September, if I lose out on this holiday I hope BA fecking fold as a company I’m fed up of this crap by pilots plenty others out there to travel with. Rant over
