Rochdale Boroughwide Housing will not receive its expected £1m funding from the Affordable Homes Programme until the regulator has concluded its investigation, Michael Gove said

and said it"must never be allowed to happen again", in a letter to every English council leader and social housing provider

This includes £2.3m for Greater Manchester - including Rochdale and surrounding councils - to increase the use of fines where a landlord is found to have committed an offence; £678,000 for Leeds to use behavioural science to change culture among landlords and £1.1m for Cornwall to create a database of private rented accommodation in the area.

"It is not right that taxpayers money should go to allow an organisation to expand, particular an organisation that was paying its chief executive north of £150,000. They should not be getting extra cash until they use the money they already have to improve housing.

Maybe we shouldn't import Africans who can't clean their own homes?

Didn’t they vote against this very type of standards improvement for properties a couple of years ago. They voted down forcing landlords to make properties inhabitable by law. Crocodile tears yet again. The hypocrisy stinks. A child died.

Due to the parents not cleaning and ventilating. Also having a child in those conditions. Lived there 2 years before he was born.

Michael Gove has been front and centre of every MSM opportunity giving all the usual political ‘bull’ almost heroically but why? Because he’s jumping on a human tragedy he can blame the cause on an opposition governing. Hypothetically swap parties and think. He don’t give a ****!

Looks like his mother did nothing to even try to remove it....
