Attempted murder arrest after man stabbed in the back and chest

Merseyside Police received a call from Northwest Ambulance Service at 9.20am on Wednesday, April 17 to say a man, who is his 20s, was found on Cross Hey in Litherland with stab wounds to his chest and back. He was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were described as none life threatening.

Photos of the scene taken on Wednesday showed a cordon surrounding a block of flats and police officers stationed at the scene. "I would like to reassure residents that at present we believe this was an isolated incident that took place inside an address in the area and no one else was harmed. If you were on Cross Hey at around 9am yesterday and saw or heard something suspicious which has led to this violent incident please contact us.
