Staff could have been unknowingly spreading coronavirus through care homes, according to UK's largest charitable care home provider

In May, Professor John Newton from Public Health England said it would be"premature" to introduce weekly testing of care home staff and residents.

"I think that is what is so hard for all our staff, because they care. But if they don't know they've contracted the virus, how can you manage this? "What does it say to the valuable people who work and live in care settings that it's 'premature' to test them weekly when Premiership footballers are being offered a test, not once, but twice a week?"The government promised one universal test for everyone in care homes in England by early June

"There was no testing. I actually had a conversation with Public Health England and asked for tests. I was categorically told there was no testing for care homes in the North West. We were on our own.

Well how else were the elderly going to catch it as fast as they did, visits from families were stopped very early in the pandemic no socialising no visits, ive always wondered how they were so badly affected. Yet supermarket workers working throughout the whole pandemic hmmm ?

Now watch it happen in schools

NHS Doctors discharged Covid -19 diagnosed patients back to care homes without writing it on their notes or telling care home management and staff. It spread to staff, their families and other residents with dreadful consequences. Charges need to be brought.

That's why they need to be tested weekly perhaps is enough.

Very sad but Unsurprising. Anywhere where many people were in & out working physically close to people as in Care setting with your proper PPE AllLivesMatter

You reckon?

Actually it was MattHancock fault for putting positive Covid19 patients back into care homes

I guess testing residents and not staff may have been a reason!! It's a bit fucking obvious!!

And you thought we'd didn't know this already because?

No shit Sherlock.!!!! 🙄

Tesidents didnt just have the virus...a bit obvious how it was transmitted into a care home. Low wages. Staff used to working ill. The writing was always on the wall.

driven by last years flu vaccinations
