Don't expect to see an Aztec setting for Assassin's Creed in the near future - despite a high-profile rumour to the contrary.
Now, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier has debunked the Aztec claim - while also corroborating Eurogamer's reporting earlier this year that Baghdad would be featured in the franchise's next title."The next AC game is Rift, which is set in Baghdad," Schreier wrote on.
previously published details of Rift back in February, and stated it would feature popular Valhalla character Basim.Infinity, meanwhile, is the- both of the franchise's two lead development studios. It will reportedly feature multiple time periods, settings, stories and characters with additional parts of the game launching over time.

Aztec would be a great setting. Middle East was done in Assassin's creed 1.

I think Jason talked about a Baghdad setting last year Meh, the AC games after Black Flag just aren't worth it I'm not going to be buying any more Assassin's Creed for a while unless they seriously overhaul everything because the games are all the same now. Basically the only difference is a thematic and while I enjoyed the last three games playing wise they're stale as month old bread
