The cost of living crisis hasn't gone away. Basics have risen, luxuries have risen, with many shoppers forced to either swap to cheaper brands or cut back altogether.
Olive oil has shot up over the last year or so, but I was staggered to see that a litre of Asda's Extra Virgin Olive Oil is now £8.40. Again, Asda isn't alone with the inflated price tag. Sainsbury's is the same, while Tesco is slightly cheaper at £3 and Morrisons £2.85. Shoppers are rightly asking questions about why things have become so expensive, like @melraunch on X, who shared a photo from Tesco and said: "Sorry but wtf is going on with the price of olive oil??"
