This is the shocking moment an arsonist burnt his own backside during a shop attack.
CCTV footage captures his accomplice ramming the door with a motorbike before he pours flammable liquid inside and sets it alight.Both men then flee the scene on the red motorbike, with the arsonist riding pillion. Police officers investigating the attack said a cleaner at The Dolls House shop in Bridge Street, Manchester, was treated for shock.The fire explodes catching the arsonist’s backside as he runs away
The two assailants were seen fleeing the city centre store at 8.15pm on Monday, September 2, before heading off in the direction of Salford, police said.Detective Inspector Mark Astbury said: ‘We are treating this as a deliberately targeted arson attack and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw two men on a red motorcycle acting suspiciously around the time of the incident, to get in touch.
Anyone with information is urged to call the force on 0161 856 4409, quoting reference 2702 of 02/09/19, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
