Armed police spotted in residential street, three men arrested

Three men have been arrested after officers received calls of an attempted break in at an Ilkeston property. On Monday, April 29, Derbyshire Constabulary received a call at around 4.45pm alleging that a number of people had attempted to break into a property on Beauvale Drive.

Witnesses reported seeing armed police in the area. Three men were subsequently arrested on Dovedale Circle at around 5.15pm in connection with the incident. This is after residents in the area believe they saw a police helicopter circling the area. A spokesperson for the force said: "A 49-old-man was arrested on suspicion of affray and criminal damage, a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray, criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon, and another 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon.

"All three men remain in police custody at this time and our enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with any information about the incident should contact us on the details below, with reference 24000249632."
