Apple warns that iPhone cameras are tested to meet quality and performance standards in ways that third-party products aren’t.
The company recommends visiting a professional repair provider with certified technicians who use genuine Apple parts as it’s the safest option. “Repairs performed by untrained individuals using nongenuine parts might affect the safety of the device or might cause improper function or issues with image quality. Apple camera parts are designed to fit precisely within the device,”
These third-party repairs also run the risk of improperly replaced screws that could leave behind loose parts and damage the phone’s battery and cause overheating or even result in injury. If an iPhone device detects a third-party camera part installed, the camera might not be able to focus properly.
