Anyone who turns 40 in Greater Manchester this week can make their birthday celebrations even sweeter by claiming a free slice of cake.
"Drop us a message if you’re turning 40 this week, just remember to give us some free exposure on socials as payment.” Three Little Birds Bakery owner Rebecca Severs, from Keighley, shared a screenshot of an email from PR company NVRLND asking the small business to make 100 cupcakes for an unidentified 'well-known' celebrity’s birthday event. In the email, which also asked for an additional smaller birthday cake for the celebrity’s husband, the PR company asked for the products in exchange for 'social media exposure'.Other media reports later revealed the event revolved around Catherine.
“But please know that knowing how much solidarity is out there for small business is incredible and every message of support means a lot!!”
