It was passed on to the owner by her grandmother after travelling through the generations. She was left in tears after hearing how much the 14 carat jewellery was worth.

A diamond brooch dating back to the 1930s was given an eye-watering valuation on Antiques Roadshow, leaving its owner on the brink of tears.

Inspecting the precious piece, expert Susan Rumfitt said: "This is a magnificent brooch. I hope you wear it every day," to which the owner confirmed she wore it in the "evening" if she's "going out".The guest then spoke about how she inherited the piece, the Record reports. "So I can imagine your grandmother really having a wonderful time putting this brooch on.. It's got a sort of sense of theatre about it, doesn't it?
