It was a lesson Anthony Cacace learned seven years ago, and it stood him in good stead on Saturday night at the Kingdom Arena. Back in 2017 the 'Andytown Apache' suffered a points defeat to Martin J Ward in a British and Commonwealth title fight at Wembley Arena.
Cacace had already claimed the IBO super-featherweight belt, and on Saturday night he blitzed Joe Cordina to add the Welshman's IBF strap in Saudi Arabia.Read next: 'Let's have it' - former Conlan opponent calls out Cacace after world title win It was a devastating display from Cacace who went to town on the former champion, leaving nothing to chance if it went the distance. It is a lesson he learned from that Ward fight way back in 2017.
"So I realise now that you have to look a wee bit busier and do a bit more to get the win against these boys. That was probably the biggest learning curve from that fight."
