The Office for National Statistics said 13,121 people in England and Wales had died by April 10 with mentions of Covid-19 on their death certificates, compared with 9,288 in the government’s daily toll. Unlike the daily data published by the government that show only deaths in hospitals, today’s figures include deaths in the community, such as at nursing homes.

It takes 2 weeks for cv to incubate, and a further week for symptoms to start to subside or kill. If you order everybody inside, you have to wait for it to spread through households who have it, and anyone they gave it to. That's why we're on 6-9 weeks.
