'I was transported to a different place'

Having reached the midway mark of the series last weekend, Annabel and Johannes decided to dedicate their Couple's Choice dance to her husband Mel who sadly passed away this year. They performed the dance to “Wings” by Birdy.

The judges were also left feeling emotional after the performance as they said that it seemed as if Mel was by her side throughout the performance. The couple received their highest score of the series so far. She responded: “It was very emotional. I didn't realise how much the significance would resonate with so many people.

“I’ve been overwhelmed with responses. When we were dancing, it was an out of body experience. I was transported to a different place. I couldn't imagine doing it with anyone else. “He understands grief as well but it was something extraordinary. It was an incredible moment.
