Anna Vakili has pleaded with the Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak over the lack of personal protective equipment being distributed to pharmacy staff.
In the video, she says: "I'm sure a lot of you are aware that I registered as a pharmacist again to help out during the coronavirus crisis. "I believe that pharmacies and their staff are the quiet achievers in this battle to keep the UK healthy. 1.6million people on average visit their pharmacy every day and I'm sure that they would agree that these amazing NHS workers deserve more recognition and support from the government.
"So far, five UK pharmacists have died on the frontline and there's a risk that number could increase. Local pharmacies have had to spend thousands to stay open and I know the government has given them a loan, and it might seem like a lot but that loan has to be paid back and when that time comes, so many of them will be forced to shut down because they can't afford to give it back.
