Andy Robertson’s injury while on Scotland duty has caused Liverpool boss “concern” with the national skipper having undergone on a scan on Wednesday in a bid to find out the extent of the ankle issue.
The 30-year-old missed a chunk of club action earlier in the season having dislocated his shoulder while playing for Scotland against Spain in Seville and Klopp now faces an anxious wait to see how long Robertson will be sidelined for. The Reds are involved in an enthralling English Premier League title battle with defending champions Manchester City and Arsenal and face Brighton on Sunday. Liverpool are desperate to win the top flight for outgoing boss Klopp. Robertson was forced off after 37 minutes of Scotland’s 1-0 friendly defeat to Northern Ireland at Hampden Park.
And The Times report: “The ankle injury Andrew Robertson sustained in the first half of Scotland’s loss to Northern Ireland on Tuesday has caused Jurgen Klopp immediate concern.The left back was due to undergo a scan on Wednesday that will determine whether he is a doubt beyond Sunday’s league game against Brighton & Hove Albion. Robertson has already missed three months of the season after dislocating his shoulder playing for Scotland last October”.
Greek Kostas Tsimikas is an option at left back while Joe Gomez can also fill Robertson’s boots in that position, if the Scotland skipper is out for any length of time.
