The ensuing scenes would be fairly miserable if they weren't so wholly tedious, largely revolving around Charlotte fiddling with this bloody belt and patting her stomach in admonition. Charlotte undergoes a week on a bone broth diet, which the show at least spares us witnessing. Yet in both instances the show struck a more empowering note than it does here, where the final moment of revelation appears to be rooted in an unnecessary and rather distasteful comparison to another woman.Yet the fixation on Charlotte's body issues feels even more egregious here, given that we have just waded through the quagmire of her tedious life over the seven previous episodes.
