The end of affirmative action in college admissions could be a chance to build a better system

Save time by listening to our audio articles as you multitaskFor more than 40 years the court has allowed some positive discrimination. But it has done so with discomfort. Too-obvious tactics like racial quotas, or awarding points for skin colour, were ruled excessive. The compromise was to consider race as one part of “holistic admissions” in a way that made its weight hard to discern.

Racial preferences are not, however, the most galling thing about the ultra-selective universities that anoint America’s elite. The legal case against Harvard, one of the universities defending itself before the Supreme Court, has prised open its admissions records to show the scale of unjustified advantage showered upon the already privileged—disproportionately those who are white and wealthy.

All contrived by politicians to keep the citizens fighting each other while they reap all the rewards of the rich!

These Dolts don't understand that they're being discriminated against because of affirmative action. Asians are too successful and have lost their minority status in the eyes of liberals.

When will the reparations for the damages caused by this start?

One of the only actual examples of institutional racism. Good riddance.

Not like the university system has been made useless by this in the last decade and pushed many talented people out because they white men. Now economy is going to suffer because those men will do their best to not support this system.

Yes only the rich can go

Affirmative action is a racist initiative purely based on race, which is unfair to poor black, Hispanic, Asian kids. It benefits rich kids who have more resources. College admission should in part consider income level instead of race

The Overlooked Voting Bloc That Could Impact the US MidtermsThere were enough overseas American voters to make a difference in 2020. Many organizers are hoping for a repeat. 🤔 Interesting as Im guilty of not remembering that this is another block of voters. I live overseas and I vote. Sometimes I wonder if they forgot me because people don’t think of us even though we have to file taxes like ever other American. I make sure I get my voting form. The 2020 election it was very hard as we were in lockdown & I had to get it back in time They are global scamming NGOs
