This past Wednesday, black people watched with collective shock as 18-year-old Brandt Jean walked across a Dallas courtroom to share an embrace with his older brother’s killer.
Why should black people feel any different to Asian?
Don't count on Guyger.
And if what 'really happened' was an accident, a misunderstood of the situation in one o both sides, she where really in the believe she was in a real danger and acted on those premise, wouldn´t be an unjustice to declare her guilty? justice must be both sided
A remarkable young man & an example of the power of forgiveness that allows us to transcend the cycle of hate/blame. But, what has “black” got to do with it?
Everything needs time! Young brother should have give us just a little time to heal. Rodney King allow us to Riot before he said 'Can We all just get Along'. The Chief of Police see there problems and need time. Let me Hate her for a while. t/y
Well Black people just made her Rich.... she going to write a book get million pay off her debts and the World will commend her for her bravery.
Those Black people are suffering from slavery syndrome, as far as I'm concerned.
Why on earth would a black person feel sorry for her? Had it been a big white guy in “her” apartment, she wouldn’t have pulled her gun and shot him.
Amber Guyger is no longer the story, she can rot in jail. Who executed Joshua Brown the key witness, outside the apartment building, after the trial is the issue.
It may not be forgiveness but fear of retribution. Historically, showing christian ways (forgiveness, carying or citing the bible) often functioned to help disarm white hatred against afro-americans. Too sad it is still (deemed) necessary.
So let me get this right She walked into the wrong flat saw a black guy shot him dead then realized she was in the wrong apartment.. remind me which Academy film that Was.. 🤔
It's not about that....Jeesh
Lock her up
It shouldn't be 'shocking' for human beings to forgive. It should be celebrated.
Identity politics/thinking/expectations. You are the pits.
Why the hug to a killer?
I'm sure 'black ppl' appreciate you telling them how they should feel about this. They were all just waiting for the OK from a corporate media outlet.
The judge should not have empaty with the murderer.. this sends the wrong message
Speak for yourself.
No one should feel sorry for her, but Brant Jean chose to. It’s his decision. You can’t say people should ‘have to’ feel sorry, it’s not like it’s an obligation. It’s a choice. Leave them to it, they’ve been through enough.
I hadn't realised they were.
It’s not about feeling sorry for her. It’s about comfort and forgiveness.
Nobody is forcing anyone to feel sorry for her. The brother was using his grace the way he thought best. Stop with the shit takes on this.
