Manchester United’s treble-winning season will be recalled in a new Amazon documentary series. Launching in May exclusively on Prime Video, ‘99’ is billed as the “definitive documentary series” of the club’s historic treble-winning 1998-99 season.
‘99’ will premiere on Prime Video on Friday, May 17, ahead of the 25th anniversary of the historic treble. Fans can stream the series with an Amazon Prime subscription, which usually costs £8.99 a month or £95 a year – or £5.99 just for Prime Video – but can be joined absolutely free with a 30-day free trial.
The series will feature exclusive interviews from key characters in United’s story – including David Beckham, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Peter Schmeichel, Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – which will recall every perspective and vital moment in vivid detail. ‘99’ has been constructed using never-before-seen archive footage, with behind-the-scenes candid video from the club and fans, to take viewers back to a remarkable moment in sport, lifting the curtain of the era-defining season.
