Police warned they will deploy more officers to the streets to make sure people are complying with the rules
Chair of the National Police Chiefs’ Council Martin Hewitt said he makes ‘no apology’ for the high number of fines issued and that there are still too many who are choosing not to adhere to the rules and ‘are endangering us all’. ‘There is a real and present risk that our health service could be overwhelmed and people, our friends and family, could die needlessly from this virus. So we must all play our part in stopping that from happening.’He gave several examples of recent Covid breaches, including a boat party in Hertfordshire with more than 40 people who paid more than £30 per ticket and a ‘minibus full of people’ from different households travelling from Cheltenham to Wales for a walk.

Many deservedly fined. Thankfully we prefer to be a law abiding nation. The money collected from fines should be allocated appropriately.
Be interesting to now how many have actually been paid though... And what they’ll do about those that haven’t...
