'All they want is fair pay': Patients supporting striking nurses despite disruption to care 💬 ‘Pay people a decent wage and support the NHS and this wouldn’t happen,’ said one patient whose surgery has been postponed

While some patients took to social media to voice frustration at the industrial action, other people affected by it said they supported the strikers and did not hold them responsible for disruption.

Hollie, 24, who works in hospitality, said she was told that her son’s operation was being moved because of the strikes as it was non-urgent. While a new date has not yet been set, she is expecting it to take place in the New Year, and is partly relieved. “I’m partially glad as I didn’t want him being too poorly for his first Christmas, and as a first-time mum it’s always a bit daunting seeing your child go in for an operation.”

“So we’re extremely fortunate in our personal circumstances – plus I don’t have a poorly baby for Christmas, which is lovely.”

NHS strike: Ministers refuse to negotiate nurses’ payThe offer by the Royal College of Nurses - to suspend strikes if the Government meets with them to negotiate over pay - looks set to go unheeded. RiaChatter I'm still backing the nurse, paramedics etc, Sunak says it will cost £28bn (which I doubt) but he was quite happy to throw away £37bn on test and no trace. RiaChatter In RishiSunak ‘s defence I believe he has offered to start back with the clapping….. with the added bonus of helping those suffering from not being able to afford their heating to keep warm. RiaChatter If the Tories had to negotiate to get their own expenses or a pay rise they would all be queuing up to negotiate. This government is atrocious. The King should dissolve parliament as the Tories are a law unto themselves. They only care if it benefits them, not the public.
