Mums have been there for all of it

They are fountains of knowledge.

You know what we’re talking about – the classic mumisms – the phrases that you’ve heard your mum say so many times you can practically mouth along with her as she says them. But despite the embarrassment and confusion that these odd words of wisdom can cause – we love them, and we will probably pass them on to our own kids one day.

Putting your handbag on the floor is also thought to be bad feng shui, according to an old Chinese proverb that states, “a purse on the floor is money out the door.”
