It begins on October 31 and ends on November 12 – and will assess how successful countries have been in keeping to the Paris Agreement, which was signed five years ago.. To fully follow the progress of COP26, it’ll be useful to understand what a lot of the jargon really means. Officially, it means ‘Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement’.– Similar to the CMA, this refers to the group of countries who oversee the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol.
