Pride was especially poignant this year as the annual paraded commemorated the anniversary of New York City's Stonewall Rebellion, which happened fifty years ago in Manhattan on June 28, 1969.

Celebrities, politicians, and members of the LGBTQ+ community were out in force to celebrate Pride in London this weekend, especially poignant as this year commemorates the 50th anniversary of New York City's Stonewall Rebellion, which happened in Manhattan on June 28, 1969.

The parade, that takes to the streets of London every year, has been hailed as the ‘biggest and more diverse Pride yet’ and saw the likes of Renée Zellweger, Sir Ian McKellan, Sam Smith and Little Mix ladies Jade Thirwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock sang, danced and made a stand for Pride.who were the victims of a homophobic assault on a bus for refusing to kiss for a group of onlookers.

He also said that the "huge, huge progress" in gay rights should be celebrated, but added "we must never be complacent". We agree!
