Alexander-Arnold given three reasons to snub Real Madrid for new Liverpool role

Emmanuel Petit has urged Trent Alexander-Arnold to snub Real Madrid and stay at Liverpool this summer. The 25-year-old defender has been thinly linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu recently as Carlo Ancelotti looks to further bolster his squad.

Nevertheless, Alexander-Arnold faces a somewhat uncertain future with his current deal set to expire at the end of next season. While the right-back may be available on a free in 12 months, Petit believes he should stay at his boyhood club. "He’s in a cocoon at Liverpool, surrounded by love and support and will rarely miss a game. If he plays like he does defensively at Real Madrid, I don’t think the fans will accept that, too, so he may be better off staying in his comfort zone."
