Aldi shoppers are divided over a non-traditional Easter treat. To ring in the Easter season, the budget supermarket has been selling a wide variety of hot cross buns, with some not conforming to the traditional ingredients.
Available in Aldi stores for a limited time only, the pack of six Village Bakery Jaffa Flavoured Hot Cross Buns is priced at £1.39. Emily’s post gained a lot of traction, racking up over 1,500 reactions, 1,100 comments and 463 shares. Emily Henley agreed, “I've been really disappointed with the Aldi hot cross buns I've tried so far this year - the caramelised biscuit, Nutoka and banoffee ones were all a bit meh,” while Audrey Dowse said, “To me all these fancy so called hot cross buns are NOT traditional buns the old fashioned ones are the real ones.”
