Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that Performance mode support won't be available for Alan Wake 2 players on Xbox Series S.

"I'm glad to say that Alan Wake 2 will have a Performance mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X," Puha said when announcing the Xbox Series X Performance mode last week."The game has been built from the beginning as a 30fps experience focusing on visuals and ambiance, but somehow we have managed to include a solid Performance mode. We’ll talk details later."

It sounds like adding a Performance mode has been a recent development effort, which would explain why the Xbox Series S won't be supporting it. The console has been the topic of discussion a fair bit in recent months as some developers have struggled to optimize their games on it., which led to the studio indefinitely delaying the game on Xbox.

As for Remedy's Alan Wake 2, we're still waiting to see the achievement list, but it's down to launch on Xbox Series X|S on October 27, so we shouldn't have to wait too much longer.Tom has been playing video games since he was old enough to hold a controller, experimenting with a number of systems until he eventually fell in love with Xbox. With a passion for the platform, he decided to make a career out of it, and now happily spends his days writing about that which he loves.
