After 5 years of using a blank keyboard, I don't recommend it

I miss the subtler aloofness of my Ultimate and its blank keycaps, but it probably won't ever be my main keyboard again. As I imagine you've guessed, both for gaming and typing, there are advantages to having little numbers and letters printed on your keys. After committing to the affectation that is using a Das Keyboard Ultimate for so long, though, I feel obligated to explain myself in more detail.At least, not if I think about it.

There are zero positives to having a blank keyboard. Just seems like a scam people fell for. Not knowing where keys are after consistently typing without key reference is pretty shameful though tbh.

I still use this keyboard to this day, but a much older version. Going on almost a decade now.

I've had a blank keyboard for over a decade. Type faster, and I know where keys are. (except !$%^&, fuck those) And it keeps others off your PC.

I don't even like to use one that doesn't have RGB😄

I’ve been typing since I was a young lad. And I still have to occasionally peek where a key is. This sounds like an inconvenience for absolutely zero gain lol.

I think the idea is to put stickers of the letters on the keys. You may want to do this when you use a keyboard for 3D design or audio and video editing applications.

Feel the same tbh. Except for me it was the alternative keys on the numbers I just couldn't remember.
