The US embassy in Afghanistan has advised American citizens to avoid travelling to Kabul airport due to"potential security threats".
"Do not call the US Embassy in Kabul for details or updates about the flight. This form is the only way to communicate interest in flight options."Those on the ground in Afghanistan have claimed that banks are still shut and ATMs are empty after the Taliban seized control. The former ambassador also believes we should be negotiating with the Taliban to extend the evacuation deadline of 31 August.
