Flybe customers have been issued with guidance on and advice following the collapse of the airline. The UK Civil Aviation Authority has issued further advice to UK consumers impacted by Flybe entering Administration on January 28.

A statement issued by the Civil Aviation Authority states that If you booked directly with Flybe and paid by credit card you may be protected under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and should contact your card issuer for further information. Similarly, if you paid by debit or charge card you should contact your card issuer for advice as you may be able to make a claim under their charge back rules.

It comes after the collapse of the airline was described as “disappointing and unexpected” by the chief executive of Belfast City Airport. When Flybe previously collapsed in 2020, it was responsible for around 80% of Belfast City Airport’s flights. “Flybe operated 10 flights to and from Belfast City, eight of which are currently served by other carriers from our airport.
