Johnson’s deal threatens the breakup of the UK. Instead, leave voters’ anxieties should be addressed from within the EU, says Gordon Brown, UK prime minister from 2007 to 2010

There is a real risk that the coming general election could be the United Kingdom’s last – with Boris Johnson remembered only for being its last Conservative prime minister. Johnson’s deal is, we now know, fatally flawed in vital respects: it threatens to make Ireland a smugglers’ and tax avoiders’ paradise and ushers in a race to the bottom in social and environmental standards. The deal also threatens to Balkanise Britain.

OfficeGSBrown Totally agree .. the tories have messed things around for 10 years now.. why give em another 5? Also, really want to see movement on a more federal UK.. it maybe the only thing left to keep the UK together. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧

OfficeGSBrown Evil anti democrat. You and your vile capitalist movement are responsible for the problems of today. How dare you even share your thoughts on this issue!

I just read this in the paper. It is (to me; if I've understood) absurd. Labour should win power, and then settle Brexit by negotiating new 'remain' and 'leave' deals and then enabling the public to choose between them?

Bottler Brown--I read your evil& deceitful garbage in the G. Utter puke. US Trade deal gets rid of NHS? Exactly what yr EU masters intend to do using THEIR US trade deal--bcos they have ALWAYS hated the NHS. Leaving is the ONLY way to save it. Leftist projection as ever.

OfficeGSBrown How far out of today's life are you? Taking notice of MSM aka BBC DailyMailUK dailytelegraph Labours Keir_Starmer jeremycorbyn etc. Have already put UKLabour deal ideas to MichelBarnier etc and had positive feed back I e. Labours Deal would be approved no problem

OfficeGSBrown Are you still here, go away and try to enjoy your retirement and thank god for our (UK) Boris.

OfficeGSBrown 😂😂😂

The 4th worst Prime Minister in UK history, the man who bankrupted the UK should keep his mouth shut.

They should have a new referendum, with a more woke electorate this time.

The referendum result was Leave

Oh Jesus. Gordon Brown. Jeremy Corbyn.... THIS.... is the greatest show 😂

Idiot.

Labour would probably abstain!

Imagine still allowing Gordon Brown column widths!

Showing exactly why you failed so miserably in the top job. -Thinking you know better than the people you are meant to represent-

Start by selling all the remaining gold, perhaps?
