Traditionally the golden rule has been to opt for an every-six-weeks trim, but three BritishVogue editors are rewriting the cutting code.

"While I don’t go for blow-dries or manicures, I do heavily depend on the Hershesons salon for a monthly trim"To put it simply: I’m not low-maintenance in any element of my life. A few years ago, I lost loads of my hair due to ill health, and ever since I got it back I’ve been fraught with anxiety around keeping it in optimal condition.

I like a little and often approach when it comes to my haircuts. I have almost waist-length hair and I am phobic of any drastic changes when it comes its style, so a while back my hairdresser George Northwood and I devised the concept of an “invisible trim” . It basically involves him cutting my hair the bare minimum amount needed for my long hair to look less raggedy and more healthy.
