A fish and chip business has relaunched in Newark with a new name and a tasty menu. The former Fish King business on Hawton Road had operated for years with various owners, but closed a few months ago.
It has been taken over by a new owner, Chantel Costelle, who worked at Fish King since she was 16. The 20-year-old officially opened Frydays at the site on Monday, June 10, and it will be open every day except Sundays. In a post on the Frydays Newark Facebook page, the business typed: "We are beyond excited to announce that we are now OPEN! Come visit us for some delicious and fresh food.
"We are a sustainable business that embodies British culture and we are committed to preventing overfishing, so we source our fish from sustainable fishing grounds which means you can be confident in the quality and freshness of your meal Plus, we're environmentally-friendly, using biodegradable boxes, paper bags and we recycle our used oil to minimise our impact on the environment.
"We would love it if you could support us by liking our page, sharing our posts, and telling your friends and family about Frydays."
