19 July: England Covid restrictions ease, but PM urges caution

the prime minister said now was the "right moment" to move to the final stage of England's roadmap out of lockdown.

"But we've got to do it cautiously. We've got to remember that this virus is sadly still out there. Cases are rising, we can see the extreme contagiousness of the Delta variant." UK-wide guidance recommending against travel to amber list countries will also be removed from 04:00 BST. Scotland is easing restrictions so that pubs and restaurants can open until midnight - but limits on outdoor meetings will remain, the return of workers to offices will be delayed and face coverings will still be mandatory.image copyrightRishi Sunak and Boris Johnson will both be self-isolating on the day restrictions are being eased

Boris is going out all guns blazing. He'll either win or be shot to pieces

Here comes the rapid fire round of Covid adaptation... Delta gonna mutate more and Boris will be famous for turning the UK into a global net exporter of disease. Yay....

Far too early. I'm double jabbed, clinically vulnerable but I won't be going anywhere other than the garden

The only solution to covid is to remain in some form of lockdown forever and restrict people’s freedoms. Only then will the minority be happy.

“You can do it, but please don’t do it”

Lets hope the virus doesnt mutate by all this contact and the vaccine is rendered useless. It could meet another virus, mutates and becomes more deadly.

Don’t watch the news and guess what, you’ll feel a whole lot better

You have stopped calling it freedom day! Is that because your Tory government have destroyed the freedom of Britain’s to work, learn, love and travel in the EU. Add in their covid incompetence and they have destroyed our freedoms

I would be very cautious SAGE scientists' Prediction: the number of hospitalisations is likely to reach at least 1,000 a day, depending on the speed of changes following lockdown lifting.

How is BorisJohnson overlooking the fact that the UK currently has the highestinfectionsrates INTHEWORLD all on the eve of openingup. It’s absolutely BSFing crazy to the rest of us looking on with horror. Don’t bloody do it! BorisHasFailedBritain keeplockeddown

Watch out Son because they’ll be nasty horrible cuunts everywhere from today freedomdayUK Freedomday coronavirus Covid freedomdayUK 🤯

Yes the % of infected ppl being hospitalised is a lot lower than it was, however, even a small % of huge number is a lot of people.

I have cancer and diobiets. If that vactccin was gonna Kill ya it would have been My end.right or not?

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 makes as much sense as the greased piglet ever does, I guess.

Useless government - more bs

So does this mean the Health Secretary didn't show caution? or he was cautious but caution doesn't work?

😂😂😂. How do you act like the 🤡 yet get bbc to report as if all very reasonable and we should listen to him. Bojo is a genius.

BRITAIN NEEDS A NEW PROPER LOCKDOWN!

July 19th will always be remembered as the day this country lost its battle with Covid and it goes even more out of control

July 19th 2021 will forever be remembered as 'National Lick a Doorknob Day'...........by those that survive.

I predict, by the end of this month, cases will drop kick a stone.

Most welcome!

It's called 'Governmental Abrogation of Responsibility' .

An absolutely mad decision!

Can you investigate how many PCR testing centres are actually fraudulent following The Sun newspapers 16th July undercover investigation? Massive public risk and deception. Pop up PCR centres not testing but taking money. Government not checking
