Under a Conservative government, the leader of the opposition promised, “net migration” would be reduced to the “tens of thousands”.

Ultimately Cameron has been exposed as a shallow man whose thinking couldn’t rise above the tactics needed to win the next election. He placated the two illusions of right wing mythology - immigration & EU - ignoring the long term consequences of implicitly validating falsehood.
