10 police officers injured during clashes at Black Lives Matter protest

Protests remained peaceful in the day, before tensions escalated between police and a small number of activists in the evening

The force said 10 officers were injured overall at the demonstration after a small number of the crowd became ‘angry and intent on violence’ after 7pm. ‘There have been 14 arrests made today, but we expect that number to rise and there will be a post-event investigation carried out.’ Meanwhile, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan praised those who protested peacefully on Saturday but said people who became violent ‘let down the cause’

It comes after the government urged the public to stay away from mass demonstrations this weekend as ‘coronavirus remains a real threat’.

Oh Metro for the first time you have failed us. You didn't mention that the officer's horse ride into a traffic light unseating her or report how the pedestrian is who got trampled afterwards. Or if they managed to catch/calm the horse and check it was okay..sad times

Things escalated following increased trouble caused by BLM 'protesters' towards police and their horses.

If the protests had remained peaceful the mounted police would not have been called upon. They were brought in to disperse the thugs throwing missiles at the police on the ground. Mounted police are used to crowd control and move people along. Then people threw missiles at them.

'Said to have mounted a charge'... Unbelievable. The police made themselves present on horseback. Both the police and horses were then pelted with rocks and even a bike, startling one of the horses causing it to run and Injure a police officer.

Where are the complaints about horses being used on streets anyway, wasn't there some complaints about horses being used on hard streets?
